Policy

Editorial policy

The standards every explainer and article on this site is held to.

Accuracy and sourcing

We research our work using statutes, court opinions, agency data and peer-reviewed research, and keep source records for editorial review. Claims we can’t verify are labeled as such, or left out.

Explainers and analysis

Explainers describe how something works and should read the same to people of any political view. Articles marked “Analysis” interpret evidence and may reach conclusions, but they separate what the evidence shows from what remains uncertain.

Review dates

Every piece shows a “last reviewed” date. Rules change, especially benefits limits, court rulings and tariffs, and we re-check pieces when they do.

Use of AI

We may use AI tools to help research, draft or edit. A human editor checks every factual claim against its sources before publication and is responsible for what we publish.

Independence

We don’t accept payment for coverage. If we ever run advertising or sponsorships, they will be labeled and kept separate from editorial decisions.
